One of the hardest decisions looming for Bill Self is whether to suspend Silvio DeSousa with or without pay for the next few games.

Yes. Hard decision for Self. Not for honorable coaches though. Self is an absolute fake SOB.

DeSousa held up his arm bar to keep him away from stealing the ball. As if to say what in the world are you doing? 99.9% of grade school kids understand the unwritten rules of end of game etiquette.

But he pushed Gordon back. Many players guard up close as someone dribbles out the clock. Gordon was wrong to steal, but I would have thought about stealing the ball after DeSousa made contact.

Not a proud moment for us but much much worse for KU. They went all gangsta on Love who was just trying to help.

I don't agree about Love "just trying to help". He waded into the fray and went directly towards DeSousa. Not a good move. That's when the fists began to fly.

Well..........yeah. Who was he supposed to go toward to defuse the situation? De Sousa was the aggressor. Love was basically saying cool it until the fists started flying.

Its not like UK was down at the end. They had 2 hard blocks on Shadd in one possession.

And that’s precisely where I thought this all began. 24 points up and they were still fighting hard to keep him from scoring.

What? Why wouldn't you keep playing hard? Good lord. It's called "competition". I get it that you don't full court press in bball in that situation or throw 70 yd passes in football, but you absolutely keep playing hard 1/2 court defense until the other team "surrenders" or as in KU did last night, obviously was not trying to score. As a coach myself, that is THE only time I'd tell my kids to not play hard 1/2 court defense. Anything less would be sad, imo.

I agree that D Gordon should have backed off.....certainly an immature response to gettin' whooped. For the life of me, I just can't figure out where the officials were and what they were thinking. That whole episode should have ended with the hard block, KU fans cheer, and the time ticks off the clock.

Right. Where were the officials when this whole thing first started?

It appears that Garrett and McCormack had cornered Love, who either tripped or was pulled down by a KU fan. DeSousa was approaching from the side with a stool held over his head - ready to smash someone. A KU assistant coach saved him from a prison term by yanking the stool away.

Higgins was right there. Higgins loves him some Bill Self. It's been obvious for years.

Gordon should not have stolen the ball. But, a lot of players guard up close to a man who is dribbling the clock out. I’ve even seen them even fake a steal. The question could be asked why did KU find it necessary to defend Shadd so hard in the play before? Could have been a foul called there

I agree. The arm bar was NOT enough to elicit Gordon's stupid response.
