Venice flooding

Post by spot2180 » November 13th, 2019, 9:34 am

Yeah, they are blaming this on global warming. Only problem is, Venice has been reportedly sinking for years. So why blame global warming? What angle are they going to work on this?

Are you saying there is literally no way to determine the difference between the city sinking and/or water levels rising?

So you don't believe there's a difference between sinking land and rising sea levels either?

You guys truly get stranger by the day, and asking for a clarification between rising and falling is a pretty classic example of that.

So New Orleans isn't sinking either? Those levees must just be a waste of tax payer dollars.

So if the water level only raises 6 inches in one place, does that mean the ocean is rising? Any other places in Italy on sea level flooding due to global warming, or is it just Venice?

I never said anything about New Orleans, so I have no idea what you're bringing that up for. Is it your stance that we cannot determine the difference between sink land and rising ocean levels?

When you build a city in a swamp, on nothing but trees embedded in the soil, what would you expect? Been sinking for decades. When I was there in 1976, St. Mark's flooded every evening when the tide rose.

The Venice may have been a great center of trade in the middle ages, but they never envisioned that the city would last forever.

So, sinking.
So yeah, sinking. Been sinking since the middle ages. Has little to do with the global warming scam.

So we can scientifically discern the difference between sinking and rising. Awesome! Now we just need to identify this "they"...
