Trump Would "head to the U.S. Supreme Court" if Impeached

Post by powercat95 » April 24th, 2019, 1:16 pm

So Trump tweeted this today:
“If the partisan Dems ever tried to Impeach, I would first head to the U.S. Supreme Court”

Anyone who knows anything about the impeachment process knows that the Constitution gives absolutely no role to the Supreme Court (it is completely up to the House, then the Senate). So I can think of 2 explanations for Trump's tweet:

1) Trump is so stupid he doesn't know that the Supreme Court is not involved in impeachment
2) Trump thinks his followers are so stupid that they don't know that the Supreme Court is not involved in impeachment

I think I'll go with #1. Any other thoughts or ideas?

He is either way ahead of you or its a ruse to obfuscate his true intentions.

Trump needs to keep his supporters and detractors in a perpetual state of outrage.....it's the only way this works out for him.

Involved in the impeachment? No. But if he is to be removed from office due to impeachment, which is what the left wants, then yes, the Supreme Court would have to be involved, which I'm guessing, was his point. Maybe a step ahead of you. Again ...

Supreme Court has no role. If House impeaches and Senate convicts, game over.

yeah, I'm not sure what you mean by the wild@nite

the only possible role here would be Chief Justice Roberts presiding over a Senate trial

You're projecting.

Haven't you dems wasted enough taxpayer money on nonexistent Trump transgressions?

This is precisely what I meant. To be removed the Supreme Court Chief Justice would have to involved. I was mainly trying to make sure there was an understanding that impeachment doesn't mean removal, and removal "involves" the Supreme Court Chief Justice.

lol...you wish

there's more NaRP outrage now than there was before Trump was president

it's kind of funny that you've never stopped and asked yourself why that is
