jamie dimon puts the hammer to wokism ...

Post by tmcats » May 4th, 2021, 4:21 pm

JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon said that while his company supports free and open elections, employees (won't) pressure the firm to interfere in the voting laws of individual states.

“That’s fine. We have the same principles about free and fair and open elections as most other people," Dimon said when asked about employees who might want JPMorgan to speak out about political issues such as the recent Georgia voting law. "Getting into the detail on 50 states, we’re not going to do" ...

“I think it’s OK for employees to speak up, but I’ll make it really clear, if my employees told me that we couldn’t use our skills … to help the United States military, I would say, 'Thank you for your opinion. You don’t have to use your skills to help the United States military, but you aren’t going to tell JP Morgan we aren’t going to help the United States military,'” Dimon said. “And if you don’t like it, leave the company.”

Objecting to legislating The Big Lie...isn't the same as "being woke"....in fact, that's a really odd conflation.

i'm not sure what the 'big lie' you like to reference has to do with woke employees getting hammered by jpmorgan's boss over military policy, states rights, and the like.

Jamie Dimon has been very clear he does not agree with the Georgia voting law, the Jan 6 attack, and the turn the Republican Party took on the Big Lie. Hardly a “hammer” on wokism.

The other aspect that the big investment banks have to deal with is that they’re no longer the top employer in town. Tech companies pay just as well, don’t murder their employees with the hours, and somewhat listen to their employees. Jamie is very old school and that’s why the banks have struggled to retain top Millennial talent.

now go back 15 years.

Also, that's not true. Apple is up 74% and JPM is up 71%.
