If the media wants to continue to fight then I suggest they sign up, or shut up.

It was never going to end well.
The media keep playing up what the Taliban is going to do to women after we leave. By our standards, not good. So the media wants us to stay and fight for Afghanistan women. They want our soldiers to die for the freedom of Afghan women.
Sorry. What right do we have to force our culture onto another country? Especially when they think America is evil and perverted. Someday it may come to two great religions fighting each other, it is time.to walk away. Some day Russia may have to save Christians.
The media cares about women only when they can use it for leverage. That's it. If those same women came across our southern border and were raped repeatedly on their journey and/or sold into sex slavery, they wouldn't even mention it.

If you haven't noticed, the left loves to posture upon piles of dead bodies. It hasn't changed since the beginning of the 20th century.

The 'new' left is the old left, just wearing different clothes and using focus groups.

The James Michener book "Caravans" is about the caravans of nomads who travelled ancient routes on camels. Really interesting read about a part of the world largely ignored until it was invaded by the Soviet Union in 1979. The book describes some of Afghanistan's sick culture and the futility of trying to change them over the millennia.
