Thanks, stlcatfan. The big showroom picture is just exactly like mine except my wheels are a little different. Surprisingly, I was looking at Dodge Chargers on the internet one night and pulled up a Lawrence dealership and there was the plum crazy Charger. I knew I had to have it. Evidently, it wasn't selling too well in Lawrence so I thought I'd bring it back to Manhattan land. I've never regretted it.stlcatfan wrote: ↑May 2nd, 2019, 9:01 pmThis intrigued me so I had to look it up. That is a nice-looking car.

I was the outlier teen in the 1950-60s as I didn't give a crap about cars and still don't to this day. My concerns were would it start, would it get me there (cheaply), and would dates ride in it.
My main ride today is a 1997 Ford F150 with 140,000 miles. Haven't washed it since last fall. Wife drives a Chevy Traverse and loves it.

I owned for a short time a 58 Corvette , in 1969 stationed in Long Beach , CA at the time I had just sold a car and had money, one of my shipmates came in one night and said the bartender down the street was desperate for cash and had the corvette that he would take $500 for, the next day I went into the bar and handed over the money, a month later I got a telegram from the USN while I was at home in KC on leave that I was to be transferred to a ship home ported in Florida and my leave was cancelled and I had to get myself and my belongings to Florida in 10 days - I was forced to sell it by circumstance, I often wonder how much money that thing would be worth today.

Wow, interesting story. I had a friend who had a 58 corvette and it was a beauty. Too bad you had to let it go.wazucat wrote: ↑May 3rd, 2019, 1:39 pmI owned for a short time a 58 Corvette , in 1969 stationed in Long Beach , CA at the time I had just sold a car and had money, one of my shipmates came in one night and said the bartender down the street was desperate for cash and had the corvette that he would take $500 for, the next day I went into the bar and handed over the money, a month later I got a telegram from the USN while I was at home in KC on leave that I was to be transferred to a ship home ported in Florida and my leave was cancelled and I had to get myself and my belongings to Florida in 10 days - I was forced to sell it by circumstance, I often wonder how much money that thing would be worth today.

Pretty sure Toledo wont drive down for this, but others might.
Sam Pack, a local big time Ford dealer with a HUGE collection of cars is opening his museum on Diplomat Rd in Farmers Branch Texas tomorrow. 9-3pm.
It is only opened to the public once a year for charity. $5 admission. I went last year and it was OMG...OUTSTANDING! Every car has some sort of provenance and the entire collection must be valued in the hundred of millions. There are about 300 cars.
There is also a car show on the outside of the museum to wander about.
If you are anywhere close you GOTTA GO!

About 15 miles. But, you would have to wait a year as he only opens his collection once a year.
