Thanks, Nealy. Good friends are hard to find and at my age harder to keep. ;)

Sorry to hear my good man. A few years ago I lost Steven "Moose" Headrick (Class of 1972) of Superior, Nebraska. Moose was a longtime Ahearn member and supplied me with season and individual game tickets for years. He was also a great drinking, camping, and fishing buddy. The background music on the church PA for the recessional after his funeral service was the Wabash Cannonball. His cremains were buried in a royal purple box with silver trim.

Now that's nostalgia.

The friend I lost recently was a KU enthusiast, but not a grad. He "liked" KSU, but he "loved" the Squawks. We had a "thing" going that when "our" team lost to the other, we wore the opponent's T-shirt the next time we were together. That's one reason why I love KSU football, over basketball.

It was a lot more fun being 20 in the 70's than it is being 70 in the 20's.

For me accepting that I am getting near retirement is hard, and knowing I have limited time left. I had children later in life and I wonder what lies ahead for them and future grandchildren. When i hear of guys my age dying it is a bummer. Thank goodness for my faith in Christ. My fear also is becoming a mean old man from dementia or getting Parkinson's like my dad did.
