no rules about length of fingernails?

I just watched the replay of the end of the Baylor/ISU game and noticed that Didi Richards has really long (apparently fake) fingernails. I also noticed that Ashley Joens had a scratch under her eye.

Not that the two things are necessarily related, but I wouldn't want my daughter playing against girls with long nails. Why is there no rule against this? Has it ever been discussed?

Can't speak for the rules committee but if the nails are deemed dangerous, that player can't play. Again leave it up to the game officials rather than taking care of it where it should be, in the administrative channels.

And yet Baylor didn't think there was a foul. She had a scratch from her forehead to her cheek.
