Win over North Texas
60-42. Played zone for most of the game because Williams, Goodrich, and Simmons were not available. Goth and Ranke played all 40 minutes. Key part of the game was shifting to a man defense early in the 4th quarter as NT was heating up from long distance against the zone. Jones had a double-double tonight.

Williams wasn't available because she was being rested for volleyball. Simmons is still hurt. What is the story with Goodrich? In addition to what you mentioned, there were two other obvious strategies in this game. First, lots of clear outs were called for Goth, and she took advantage of them. Second, getting Jones into the offensive flow was a priority. This was probably her best game as a Wildcat. The passing by the guards continues to improve, but they are still often struggling with the entry pass to the posts. I sure hope the quality of the officiating improves. It can't get much worse than what happened in this game.AlabamaLane wrote: ↑November 16th, 2018, 10:10 pm60-42. Kali Jones is making a bid for major playing time this season. She is using quickness and positioning in a bid to become the primary backup at both the 4 and 5 spots.
Jones came into the program last - late a year ago. She never got into mesh with the team until way after conference started. She has put in a lot of time improving this summer. Now she feels she can help play the senior leadership role that this team needs!

Carr is good player and no doubt she will eventually be really good, but she is currently putting up a lot of attempts to get her 8 pts. In a couple games now. I like that as a freshman she has so much confidence, but when the 3 isnt falling she needs to put it on the floor more or find a teammate for a higher % shot.
