Mittie's big surprise?

I saw somewhere (Twitter probably) that Mittie has some big surprise tomorrow. What the heck is that all about? Anyone have any clue?

MANHATTAN, Kansas – Kansas State women's basketball will host the inaugural Women's Basketball Tip-Off Event featuring guest speaker Holly Rowe of ESPN on Tuesday, October 23, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., in the Theede Club of the West Stadium Center.

K-State women's basketball season ticket holders will have first priority for this event and can purchase tickets for $35 for adults and $15 for children 2-12 years of age beginning this afternoon and running until September 30. This is a business casual event with attendees encouraged to wear K-State apparel.

To become a 2018-19 K-State women's basketball season ticket holder, fans can purchase two general admission season tickets for only $50, a savings of more than $100.

Additional season ticket options include Cat Cushion tickets at $99 per seat, as well as Chairback seats for $132 each (plus a $50 donation per season ticket account to the Ahearn Fund). K-State faculty and staff can purchase discounted season tickets in the Chairback sections at $110 each and Cat Cushion sections at $79 per ticket.

General public tickets for the Women's Basketball Tip-off Event will go on sale on Monday, October 1, at 8:30 a.m., through the K-State Athletics Ticket Office at kstatesports.com/tickets.

Table sponsorships are also available for the event, with tables available for $500. Table sponsors will receive a meet and greet session with Holly Rowe from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. To purchase a table sponsorship, please contact Sadie Murren (smurren@kstatesports.com or 785-532-6970).

Rowe celebrates over 20 years as one of ESPN's most versatile announcers. Covering a wide variety sports for ESPN, Rowe joined the network full time in August 1998 after appearing on select ESPN telecasts in 1997 and ABC Sports in 1995-96. Rowe is one of the lead reporters on ESPN Saturday Night Prime College Football, Big Monday College Basketball, Women's Final Four, Women's College World Series, NCAA Volleyball Indoor and Beach National Championships and the lead WNBA announce team.

Holly Rowe has also provided play-by-play commentary for women's college basketball, softball, volleyball and gymnastics. In addition, Rowe has covered soccer, swimming, track & field and the Little League World Series of baseball and softball for ESPN.

Currently in treatment for Stage IV Metastatic Melanoma, Rowe has become tireless advocate for Cancer research and prevention.

The evening will continue with a cocktail hour from 6:30 to 7 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Rowe will then address the attendees followed by head coach Jeff Mittie introducing the 2018-19 K-State women's basketball team.

K-State will return eight letter winners from the 2017-18 season for the 2018-19 season, led by All-Big 12 selections Kayla Goth, Peyton Williams and Rachel Ranke. The Wildcats will also welcome in its highest ranked recruiting class during Mittie's tenure with four freshmen: Christianna Carr, Ayoka Lee, Laura Macke and Savannah Simmons joining the roster for the upcoming season.

Kansas State concluded the 2017-18 season with an 18-16 overall record and a Round of 16 appearance in the 2018 WNIT. This was the fourth straight season the Wildcats reached the postseason under the direction of Mittie.
