i'm sure poindexter will be at four and lee at five, but will sundell move off the point to the two or three spot? with walker attending media days, i have to wonder if that means she's moving to the point or two guard starting position? heard the women lost a scrimmage to minnesota last week and sides injured - all rumored.

I saw something on X that said she had surgery this week and is out for the season. Two years in a row.

observations:

1. temira poindexter (5/5 14 pts) is the real deal and might just key this program to unknown places - athletic, long (6'2"), gifted shooter;
2. as guessed, zanna walker moved to point and serena sundell to off-guard making the squad more athletic across the backcourt;
3. yoki lee looked her normal self hitting a turnaround jumper that brought a "wowzer" to my rocker;
4. taryn sides outside game reminds me of laurie kohn's as a youngster draining treys - side note: this is an all first name outfit, whew!
5. gisela (again) sanchez is going to put it together sooner or later - right, tell me it will happen?
6. the glenns were solid as expected - two fine, senior, now-role-players game with confidence even moxie at times on both ends;
7. lester, maupin, taylor are capable bench players making this squad unusually deep - eliza threw down some dunks in warmups;
8. 16 of 27 (59%) from the free line is not good - 9/24 (38%) from three is solid - 22 turnovers not acceptable;
9. i did not see the minnesota freshman, finley ohnstad, on the court but the stats credit her with a minute's play;
10. overall, far more impressed with this wbb outing than the men, which should not surprise given the team pedigrees.

Agree 100% on #1. And on #5, you see the potential but just doesn’t seem to completely manifest. Hopefully it will all start clicking soon.

I didn't watch, only looked at the box score, and I know it was just an exhibition, but I hope Poindexter plays more than 16mpg moving forward. I don't think she should sit and watch the Glenn's play all that much. I hope she is a 25-27mpg player.

poindexter will play starter minutes. looking at team rotations after one exhibition, i'd say she's third most valuable behind lee and sundell. the glenns will be subbing for one another as well as for serena. poindexter plays at the four spot - sanchez should be second there. kennedy taylor and lester follow lee. sides will back walker. ten player rotation?

I watched most of the game, only saw Ohnstad sitting on the bench with her sweats on. Heard Smoller say during the broadcast that Maupin dunked it twice during pre-game warm-up. :shock:

This team is deep.

I was very impressed with Temira Poindexter. Half basketball player and half fashion model. The way she carries herself on the court is entertaining all by itself. She appears to be a complete player. She is right there with Yoki and Serena. When she hit her first 2 threes my thought was ice water.
