2024-25 season projections ...

cats start top 20 but behind both baylor and iowa state in the minds of some. poindexter addition gives them a bump up.

https://www.espn.com/womens-college-bas ... 24-25-poll

14. Kansas State Wildcats
The No. 4 seed the Wildcats earned in the NCAA tournament was their best since 2005. With the return of 6-6 Ayoka Lee for her extra COVID-19 season of eligibility, improving on that in 2025 is possible. Mostly healthy after missing all of 2022-23 with a knee injury, Lee produced 19.7 points and 8.6 rebounds and ranked sixth in the country shooting 61.9% from the field. Gabby Gregory and her 9.4 PPG are gone, but the rest of the backcourt is back for their senior seasons. Serena Sundell (12.1 PPG, 5.6 APG), Jaelyn Glenn and Brylee Glenn have combined to start 295 games at Kansas State. The addition of 6-1 Temira Poindexter, who averaged 21.0 PPG this season at Tulsa, makes the offensive attack even more versatile. Previous ranking: 17

I would think TCU also has a chance to finish ahead of us. I think we have missed our chance by not signing a top flight 3 point shooter. Guess time will tell how some of the returnees and the freshmen do in that department.

Iowa State also got two more quality pick-ups since this was published. It will be interesting to see where we end up.

keep yoki healthy and it will be a run for the championship. everybody back, sans gabby, and addition of two quality players, one a badly needed basket-getter, the second a physical forward.

Will be interesting to see how the conference schedule breaks down with 16 teams.

I really liked playing each team twice. It was more of an even playing field as far as winning the conference goes.

I am guessing each team will have a home and home with 3 other teams based on rivalries and geographical proximity. They would then play the other 12 once, 6 at home, 6 away. This guess is based on remaining with a 18 game schedule.

Ok. So much for my guess. 5 other teams twice and the other 10 once???
