big 12 news

Post by greycat68 » April 7th, 2021, 9:39 am

2 time all big 12 1st teamer vivian gray of texas tech has announced she is returning for her extra year of covid eligibility. she is the only big 12 player to publicly announce they are returning so far. on the not so positive front at ttu they have lost 7 players to the transfer portal. their star point guard crislyn carr transfered to baylor back in january. now they have lost their 2nd leading scorer and 3 top reserves. sounds like coach gerlich may have some problems.

2 surprises in the transfer portal. at iowa state, kylie fuehrbach, one of their 3 star freshmen guards has put her name in the portal. high rated recruit who started every game on a good team??? at texas, sophomore celeste taylor entered the portal. she was a 5 star recruit who had been a starter for two years on an elite 8 team. i think she was honorable mention all big 13 this year.

wext virginia lost 5 to the portal but all were non contributors. on the flip side they improved themselves greatly. they signed the 6'6" starting center from mississippi state and a 6'1" starting forward from xavier. with those 2 additions they will likely be the #2 pick in the conference next year.

still no signings by ksu, the best 2 point guards available have already been taken. there are over750 players in the portal, with over 200 of them coming from power 5 schools. this is probably the best opportunity in history to improve a roster, so i hope we don't sit idle and watch it pass us by. we should have at least 2 available scholarships we could use.

Pick 'Em

thanks for the update. that iowa state move is surprising given their coach is held in such high regard up there.
Why is there something rather than nothing?

Fennelly can be a tough SOB to play for. He's not easy on his players. Pretty blunt.
