Serena Sundell of Maryville, Missouri, was named the 2021 Miss Show-Me Basketball, as well as the 2021 Class 4 Player of the Year and to the Class 4 All-State Team.
Notable past winners of the Miss Show-Me Basketball honor include: Napheesa Collier (2015), Sophie Cunningham (2015) and Niele Ivey (1996).
Sundell was rated as the number three player in the state of Missouri by Prep Girls Hoops. She is also a four-star prospect and is on the 2021 watch list for ProspectsNation.com.
In the 2020-21 season, Sundell averaged 25.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 3.1 steals and 1.0 blocks while leading the Spoofhounds to a 22-2 overall record and a runner-up finish in the Class 4 District 16 playoffs. During the season, she surpassed the 2,000-point mark for her prep career and set the career points record at Maryville High School with 2,358.
Joining Sundell with 2021 MBCA postseason accolades were Brylee and Jaelyn Glenn from Raymore, Missouri. The Glenn sisters were named Class 3 All-State selections by the MBCA for their efforts this season at The Barstow School. Jaelyn Glenn was also a 2021 McDonald's All-American Game nominee.
