Everyone seems to conveniently forget that Yoki was recruited by Mittie.

He's recruited a lot of good players, but can't seem to get a full team at the same time, nor coach the players well.
Yes and I hate being in the corner of defending him but he has recruited much better bigs than Deb who seemed only capable of recruiting smurfs, talented smurfs mind you but it's hard to win without rebounds and post scoring threat.

Maybe Mittie should hire Deb Patterson as an assistant coach. We could have the best of both worlds. Good bigs and smurfs.

Seems we did a lot better with smurfs than we are doing with one of the best posts in the conference.

the game has changed so much in the last 10 years. watching the games this weekend. the players are just so much faster and athletic. if we don't change something in our recruiting we are never going to be competitive on the national stage. one other thing, if we have hated getting tromped by baylor for the last 10 years we better get ready to get ready for the same from Texas. vic schaeffer is a hell of a coach and he will get top flight talent. with the staff we have now we have no chance of competing against either of them.

Look at Iowa State, they are still able to win and haven't really changed the type of players they recruit. They do have a good coach though.

ISU has 3 or 4 guards (3 of them freshman) who can all run the point better than anyone we have. 7 years of not being able to recruit a decent pg and relying on the transfer portal year after year to try and find a serviceable point guard has set this team so far back from where we once were.

It's been mentioned before on this forum that this team wasn't athletic. They're too slow, no fast breaks etc... Now people are concerned about it. You got what you wanted on the floor. 3pt shots and a decent post. The rest was overlooked until the constant losing started. This has been going on for a while.

We had 3 point shots? Not what we are used to having, that's for sure. If we could hit 3 point shots consistently we probably would have won a few more games.

Am I wrong in remembering that most of the players from Minnesota and Wisconsin were recruited by Brian Ostermann?
