Ladies edge TCU in OT
Carr makes three free throws with one second left to give the ladies a 79-76 win. Carr had a career high 31 and Lee added 29. Carr, Lee, and Ranke all had nine rebounds. The gals led most of the way but survived some back and forth in the last few minutes.

Good comeback after blowing a 16 point lead. Two centers for TCU fouled out just before OT -- which gave Lee a big advantage in OT. Lee played many minutes with 4 fouls.
Good Win. EGAW

Those two centers did a ton of fouling that wasn't called. It was a physical game. Shots weren't falling for Ranke and Ebert.

Caught the second half... still don't understand why Mittie does what he does. There was a pretty long stretch in the 3rd/4th (coinciding with TCU's run to get back in the game) where Goodrich was on the floor and Goodson was on the bench. So, TCU totally sags off Goodrich - to the point where if she drove, she could have had layups (with Lee walling off her defenders) or 4-foot floaters on each possession - and has a plus defender on Lee. No cuts to the rim, etc. Offense stalls.
Then, Macke subs in for Ranke (who was 1-for-10 from the floor and 0-for-9 from 3, but I digress) and now we have two non-shooters in the game and TCU is basically playing three defenders on Lee. Still, no cuts to the rim, no action to get the ball to the free throw line extended and play off that, etc. Offense stalls even more.
All that said - it's got to feel good for the players to close one out when things didn't look good.

Yes, Mitties coaching is maddening. We played 4 against 5 on offense which was a huge reason TCU even got back in the game. Teams don't even guard Goodrich. They'll let her make 1 out of 5 mid range jumpers all day as long as they are locking down everyone else.
As I said before, we have 2 scorers you can count on right now and no consistency from everyone else.
Blowing double digit leads seems to be the standard, but the most infuriating thing..... How in the world do we have guards leaving a perimeter shooter with under 5 seconds to go with a 3 pt lead to go contest a lay up? Kstate is very fortunate that her toe was on the line or this is probably another win turned to loss.
The first half by Carr was probably the best she's played in her career, and was what I hoped we were getting when she first got here. She was hustling, not forcing 3s, making plays in the paint, and rebounding.
Lee, Carr, Ebert, and Macke will be a solid group next year. Ranke will be off and on. Ebert and Macke have the effort, it's just a matter gaining experience and they will become consistent scorers and not so turnover prone. A point guard and new hc would do wonders for this team.

It figures that the player on the team with the most 3 point attempts is shooting under 30% from three. Only one player on the whole team is hitting more than 31% of their threes. Between giving up offensive rebounds and turning the ball over, K-State's opponents have had 183 more shot opportunities than the Cats on a cumulative basis this year. No wonder this team performs so badly, with bad 3-point shooting, giving up offensive rebounds and turning the ball over at a pace that is hard to believe. No real point guard for years. Ugh......
