I can see both sides of it. I like that it does create some excitement compared to a lot of the other non-conf games. Otherwise, why give the egotistic Marshall what he wants after years of trash-talking KU & KSU, and give in without any concessions? WSU was who ended the series in the first place after us winning 14 of the last 16 matchups, and now that their program has some relevance, and in a little better conference, they want to play again.
It's a home-run win for WSU & Marshall just to schedule a game against the superior instate school, even without considering their favorable schedule. Don't see near the benefit to KSU. They should be coming to Manhattan every time if they want to play... we had that leverage. Instead, we get 3 games in Wichita and 1 game in Manhattan, 1 in KC, that's ridiculous for KSU to schedule that. Just my 2 cents

I hate this deal. Wsu absolutely owns KSU in this agreement. 1 game in Manhattan and 2 (3 if you count the exhibition) in Wichita, thats just idiotic and I have no clue what the AD was thinking. I think we should play wsu but not this way

Perhaps Bruce has decided to start giving more than token effort and actually trying to recruit players from Trinity Academy...

Thats fine but let's have 2 in Wichita, 2 in Manhattan, and 1 in KC. KSU is the power 5 team, we shouldn't be extending them favors and if Marshall won't agree to that then screw him.Kid In the Hall wrote: ↑July 10th, 2020, 8:14 pmPerhaps Bruce has decided to start giving more than token effort and actually trying to recruit players from Trinity Academy...

I think the city of Manhattan deserves a 2/2/1. I wouldn’t be pleased if I were a local business.

this thread makes me think that some of our fans haven't competed in sports. they are sitting there trying to crunch numbers and do mental gymnastics about why we shouldn't play wichita here, there, or wherever. i think it comes down to being scared to lose, which is exactly the type of mentality that holds a program back from being successful.
this is college sports, let's have some damn fun for once and play the local schools rather than florida a&m and alabama state. this wichita series is way overdue. kudos to weber for scheduling the shox and, for that matter, missouri.
those who think otherwise should stay home and watch opera, opie, or oprah. all should be far less threatening to your manhood.

Why is there something rather than nothing?

I am confused on why there are any complaints. If you like KSU basketball this is great development. WSU has already made their reputation under Marshall. They won't gain much as much by beating us as we will by beating them. Good chance to see KSU against quality competition three years in a row in non con games. Can you imagine we actually fill Bramlage up for a non con game next year. I can't wait.
1. 1 exhibition game next year that will be meaningless whether we win or lose but will give us a road game that we don't have to win against good competition. Advantage to KSU that it is on the road and will allow a lot of southern Ks Wildcats to get an early glimpse of next years team. Win win.
2, 2022 game at Bramlage. Good road game for WSU. Win win.
3. 2023 game at T Mobile in KC. Game that KSU fans will want to watch and will fill the arena. Both teams should be good and experienced. Should be a KSU crowd but lots of WSU fans will also get a chance to see KC. Win, win.
4. 2024 game at Koch Arena. Tough game on the road against a home crowd. We may have a young team. Probably a plus for WSU but really nothing to lose for KSU. Win for WSU. Meh for KSU.
