I don't know, he looks a heck of a lot better then what we have had for a while
Big strong guy with 7ft 1 in wing spread.
4.5 blocks per 100 possessions as a freshman at Utep.
Mak led KSU last year with 2.4 per 100
Might play defense a little different than Mak. Will be interesting to see how they use him.

He looks knock-kneed and can barely elevate high enough for a two hand flush. Think Steven Hurt. Maybe those were just bad clips. However, If I recall he was likely going to see limited minutes at UTEP. I doubt he will be an impact player next year.

He redshirted because he was down the depth chart and he would have had real trouble playing any significant minutes on a poor utep squad. I don't understand the high expectations at all but it happens every year around here.

I don't see a lot of high expectations, just hope that he can be an improvement at the 5 spot. He seems to bring energy and aggressiveness. He is a big strong body and moves pretty well even if he is not an elite athlete. I also think he will be a guy who wants to play on the interior. I think most of us see an active rim protector who will be a good rebounder and will take it aggressively to the rim when he gets the ball on the blocks. We shall see.

ezeagu reminds me of louis colon. that may be harsh or fair, i don't know. but if that's what we get it would be fine with me. leaves time for the youngsters to develop and add muscle in the middle. i always appreciated colon's heart and love for the game even though it was nothing short of humorous at times.
i will add that weber is forthcoming to a fault. so, if he sees and says he sees talent here, i tend to trust in him more than my own eyes or ezeagu's history at utep.
Why is there something rather than nothing?

I don't think this kid will that good, honestly. A body capable of 10-15 mpg, 3 pts/3 Reb/1 block is about what I expect.

As a true freshman, he played in 29 games with 8 starts averaging 12.4 minutes per game. This was the first year of new HC Rodney Terry. It became evident that UTEP was going to go to a smaller lineup so they didn't need as many bigs, so someone had to RS, and they picked him for having the most eligibility left. Then UTEP went all in on the transfer strategy, bringing in a trio of transfer from the same former highschool. All of a sudden, there were 5 bigs on the team, with Ezeagu being the youngest. While he was RS, other players became more known commodities, so of course he was going to get buried behind players that played the year before and were older. It's not uncommon for the younger players to get buried on the depth chart, I wouldn't necessarily hold that against him. He may not make an impact, but there seems to be a need at the 5 with all the departures so someone has to play.

Just watching a few clips of him playing at Utep, his foot speed looks like an issue. Thats what I'll be watching when we get to see him play.
