remember demeaning the rice commission, fellows?

i do. i remember writing here that what she was doing then would be good for the game down the road. well, now sfa gets slapped around for grading nefariousness. but more importantly, condi recommended an independent review committee (IARP) to deal with the likes of ku and its adidas bagman(s) activities. now, we'll see how that works for both the squawks and nc state which is also before the committee. here are the members hearing the ku case: https://iarpcc.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.c ... _Final.pdf

http://www2.kusports.com/news/2020/may/ ... ons-case-/

But there is a big difference between this new process and the more traditional one: Decisions made by the IARP are final and cannot be appealed ... That could be a big deal for KU and its basketball program because the NCAA has alleged that KU’s violations are so serious that penalties could include postseason bans, vacating wins and conference championships, as well as a long-term suspension of head coach Bill Self.

It seems they might be serious this time about cleaning up some stuff.

I’m not convinced the committee is unbiased.

I would like to see a committee composed entirely of K-State and Missouri alumni.

KU may be wondering where is Inspector Clouseau when you really need him? Or Dickie V-why not make him the chair of the inquiry board? Still, I'll believe it when I see it.
Would also be nice if this group did a smidgen of investigating themselves, instead of having evidence like the Adidas recorded phone conversations handed to them on a silver platter. I mean really. If KU believes (which they apparently do, and not without reason) that they can skate away from that phone call transcript, then either they are delusional or-God help us all.

I dedicate this song to Bill Self. I think he should sing it at next season's basketball kick-off party. Either this or Dierks Bentley's "What was I thinking?" This should be part of the sanctions handed down by the NCAA. He's just arrogant enough to do it.

Dumb a$$ just didn't know when to quit. You just have to wonder if he was on something. But for 14 years?? He must have been drunk on Bill Self.

Love me some Brewer and Shipley

Lyrics
One toke over the line, sweet Jesus
One toke over the line
Sitting downtown in a railway station
One toke over the line

Waiting for the train that goes home, sweet Mary
Hoping that the train is on time
Sitting downtown in a railway station
One toke over the line

Who do you love, I hope it's me
I've been changing, as you can plainly see
I felt the joy and I learned about the pain
That my momma said
If I should choose to make a part of me
Would surely strike me dead

And now I'm one toke over the line, sweet Jesus
One toke over the line
Sitting downtown in a railway station
One toke over the line
Waiting for the train that goes home, sweet Mary
Hoping that the train is on time
Sitting downtown in a railway station
One toke over the line

I sail away a country mile
And now I'm returning and showing off my smile
I met all the girls and I loved myself a few
And to my surprise
Like everything else I've been through
It opened up my eyes

And now I'm one toke over the line, sweet Jesus
One toke over the line
Sitting downtown in a railway station
One toke over the line
Don't you know I'm just waiting for the train that goes home, sweet Mary
Hoping that the train is on time
Sitting downtown in a railway station
One toke over the line

Don't you know I'm just waiting for the train that goes home, sweet Mary
Hoping that the train is on time
(Sitting downtown) Sitting in a railway station
One toke over the line

I want to be one toke over the line, sweet Jesus
One toke over the line
(Sitting downtown) Sitting in a railway station
One toke over the line

(Don't you know I'm just waiting for the train that goes home, sweet Mary) Waiting for the train that goes home
Hoping that the train is on time
(Sitting downtown) Sitting in a railway station
One toke over the line
Sitting downtown in a railway station
One toke over line
One toke, one toke over the line

Or perhaps this last verse of Willie Nelson's "Something You Get Through"

Life goes on and on

And when it's gone

It lives in someone new

It's not somethin' you get over

But it's somethin' you get through

It's not somethin' you get over

But it's somethin' you get through

I like it. Bill Self in concert at Allen Field House, a night of apology and regret.

I think this would be a great song for an encore as the teary eyed KU faithful cheer him back on stage.
