You know the old saying. "Follow the money" Makes you wonder if some of the big wigs at the NCAA could be on the private payroll of some of the so called elites.

As far as what this type of punishment would be for KU, let's see if it truly meets the parameter I define as effective to curtail future cheating i.e. is it program crippling? Public reprimand (no), vacating wins/championships (no, they already won and experienced the wins and everyone watched them and heard the effusive praise of Self and the wonderful KU program for all of these cheating years), a fine (a few cutbacks and a few big donors who live for KU basketball and think they are getting a raw deal would pay this, so no), 1 basketball scholarship in one of the next years (as written...no), 3 years probation. The probation is not defined, they will miss postseason because of APR, but probation isn't defined if it is double secret probation, probation in name only, or if it includes multiple season post season bans. Bottom line, if the punishments don't look forward then they aren't going to move the needle much. In my mind, when they get to KU, they need vacated wins/championships, fines, reductions of 2-3 scholarships/year for 3-5 years, post season bans for 3-4 years, and show cause for Self and Townsend...and no national TV for 2-3 years. Those would get the attention, I believe. Anything less is just sneezing in their coffee.

Exactly... wake me up when KU or other blue- blood BB school gets hammered. Til then it just doesn't matter.
