They can keep Williams. I say we offer Cunningham. A squeaky clean progam and coach a few hours up the road may look pretty good right now.

Yeah he’s 100% committed.....probably....maybe.....I think so......unless something better comes along or someone else leaves.

So I take it you agree? I don't think there are any rules preventing it. May as well try for the low hanging fruit.

KU basketball will not get punished. Williams at NCU didn't get punished for his cheating. Pitino is back coaching. Duke and UK operate sleazy in the dark and dank corners of recruiting. Blue bloods control the sport not the NCAA.

meanwhile decent coaches and programs are left to get by on the crumbs.

wrong. ku will get hammered. unc got off because those classes were taken by students outside of athletics and the ncaa had no authority over class types anyway. pitino got canned at louisville from crip's sake.

But remember, he said he is a man of his word. Same word he has gone back on twice. Of course he is going to rally to keep the players there because he has burnt so many bridges he has no where else to go and he doesn't want OSU to suck if he is stuck there.

I doubt the pending OSU appeal is over before the players have to decide so they have a tough choice. There was no guarantee OSU would even make the postseason, but this ban keeps them out of both the NCAA and the NIT and I believe the Big 12 tournament is also considered postseason. Outside of winning the Big 12 regular season, they will not be in a lot of news because they won't play in the postseason. No news seems like it would hurt Cade's marketability. Not to mention that if players start to leave, the team will suffer and as a result, Cade's play will suffer with poorer teammates, which could also hurt his draft stock.

Losing 3 scholarships for 3 years will also hurt OSU and therefore they will be not as good as they could be, and then the players on the team will also suffer with missing on better postseason results and overall team performance will be lower, again lower the draft stock of the players. If you have a better place to go for your potential NBA career, wouldn't you?

On the flip side, there are not a lot of teams with open spots left. So if they want to leave, it's either the G League for Cade, or a lower school. Now they could also just wait out the year and see what happens with the appeal and then transfer after the season.

Either way, OSU is going to suffer if it holds.
