remember, the ncaa is a euphemism for college presidents, who are amongst the most focused and skilled looters of american wealth. we talk about the ncaa as some remote institution led by corrupt officials administering from grand offices in naptown. when it fact, the ncaa is the presidents' cabal for sports administration, finance, and regulation. their primary role is to generate money.

You want clean programs, then make each league commissioner responsible for doing so. Require the commissioner must certify prior to end of the year and prior to tournaments all programs in the league are clean. If ANY team is found not to be, none of teams get any tv revenue. Independents have to affiliate with a league for certification and right to participate in the tournaments

Sounds good but who hires the commish? I'm guessing the league, its coaches or university administrators. There would be tremendous pressure on the commish to look the other way less the league fail to bring in top recruits and would not get the ratings and $$ that go with more TV and post season deals. Kind of an endless loop. Ultimately it comes down to we the people. This is representive of an ethical decline throughout society. Maybe if the leagues investigated one another it would get interesting. Even then the KUs and UKs would be making backroom deals. But it would be harder for them.

A commissioner would qualify any filing with “to the best of my knowledge.” What commissioner has ever been allowed to look under the skirts of the member institutions? Or even cared to? It would be interesting to see if compliance oversight is even a part of the job description.
