Butler went 22-9 last year and 10-8 in the Big East finishing the season ranked #21 in the AP

Their top 2 leading scorers graduate in Kamar Baldwin (16.2 ppg) and Sean McDermott (11.7 ppg) as well as Henry Baddley (3.2 ppg) and Derrik Smits (3.1 ppg)

Will be a great opponent. And glad they don’t have Baldwin back.

But how is it ku gets to play a top 10-15 Creighton at home and we have to go on the road to Butler?
Just hoping they’re playing it on probation and no opportunity for post season.

The series alternates between road and home. They played @Villanova last season so they get a home this season.

Oh, so these are home and home series? We’ll get Butler in Manhattan the following year?

Next year we’ll get a Big East team at home. It’s not a home and home with one specific team.

They don’t have any of the teams from last year playing the same team again, so it probably wouldn’t be Butler.

Just like the SEC challenge, it should rotate each year between a home and away game. Last year, they converted the Marquette game to the Big East challenge and it was played in Bramledge.

Just as long as KSU doesn't put these games in KC or Wichita, it should be in Manhattan the following year.

And just like the SEC challenge, they are going to matchup the top teams to have a bigger profitability on the game. KU was the Big 12 champ, Creighton was the Big East champ.

Creighton was technically one of three Big East champs since there was a 3 way tie with also Villanova and Seton Hall. Creighton could possibly be the best team of those 3 going into next year with what they return and have coming in.

How is Creighton this good? I seen them early last season and thought they were going to really struggle with losing by 30 to San Diego St, who was good, but 30 points better a lot of times means you’re not good. Then they started their conference season 2-3. Did they have early season injuries or ineligible first semester players, or just take a little time to come together?

I think they just needed some time to put it together and a little luck. They’re easily the 2nd best team in the BE going into next year. They’ve taken some hits with guys leaving to go pro/transfer, but as of right now still a top 20/15 team. Villanova might be the preseason #1, but the BE probably didn’t want the same matchup twice in a row.

Kansas State fans that make the trip are in for a treat watching a game at Hinkle Field House. If you make the trip you will find out what college basketball is all about. I’m sorry, I may be a KSU fan, but you don’t get that experience in Bram.

I suspect this will be an ass kicking, but who cares, I might just make the trip to watch a game a Hinkle and take in the atmosphere.
