Sorry to hear that, but I am not surprised. Someone posted a while back that we may have another big man transfer and Levi was my first thought. I hope he finds a good school for himself.

we didn't get better with levi leaving. i thought he played much better as the season progressed and would have started this coming season. maybe he thought he was being recruited-over? disappointing loss. i never saw him as a problem child.
Why is there something rather than nothing?

Levi was never a good player but he just looked “better” this year with the demise of Mak.
I still don’t think it would’ve made a huge difference but for all the incorrect moves we’ve made with strength/weight gain in the past years - ask puffdad if you’re confused here - I don’t understand why we took Levi in the opposite direction.
To me it was clear pretty quickly that he didn’t have enough height or athleticism to realistically compete in this league. However, he could’ve bulked up (like we did to other players who shouldn’t have been forced to bulk up *eye roll emoji) and been the wide-body big.

I can appreciate what the young man put into the program, but we weren’t getting better with Levi being a started this upcoming year. He’s a sub. A 10-12 minute a game player. If he’s starting then your post position isn’t very strong. Even with all the inexperience I believe our post play will be better. Or at least has a much better chance of getting better.
Now I wish we could have gotten Garcia. He would fill the role of that wing they want. Would love to find a grad transfer to fill that role for a year.

That's a surprise and definitely a hit to this team next season. Levi was set to be the starter at the 5, next season. Why would he transfer going into his senior season while having 3 completed? Doesn't make sense. There has to be more to the story.
Sure, Levi is not your ideal bigman, but who is going to replace him at the 5? Rely on a true freshman who hasn't set foot on campus yet? A 200lb JUCO transfer, who has yet to set foot on campus? Those are your 2 options right now to start the season, unless you pull Murphy down from the 4.

This just shines an even brighter light on how poorly BW et al have recruited since Wade, Brown and Stokes. I guess our record is a fair reflection of same.

I think Ezeagu probably fills Stockards role, but he isn't eligible till the 2nd semester.bhoovy wrote: ↑April 21st, 2020, 11:18 amI can appreciate what the young man put into the program, but we weren’t getting better with Levi being a started this upcoming year. Not a lot of immediate playing time PF out there that are worth it and not really any SF or C either. Most that are left either are coming off an injury, were involved in some sort of issues, or were not significant contributors. Players like Tuarean Thompson look good, but when you see it's their 2nd transfer and he couldn't earn playing time at Seton Hall, not so much.
If KSU wants to have a player sit for a year, there are more options, but the ones left still have the same risks. Most of the good players are taken at this point.
