Carlton Linguard commits
6'11" JC big man with 3 years to play. I'm kind of meh on this but hopefully the kid develops into a solid contributor. I was hoping we'd save that schollie for next year but oh well.

NJCAA 1 rankings
Positive,:
5th off rebounds
23 all rebounds
4 blocked shots
1521 assists to turnovers
Negative:
5 disqualifications
26.5 3pt Percent
I am excited. I think he will be a good piece of the puzzle

I wouldn't dismiss this as meh. KU was interested at one point, and he had a ton of interest from some pretty good schools. I figure if we sign enough bigs, the law of averages says that one of them may end up pretty good - unless they all get foot injuries.

Read this, and tell me it doesn't get excited. Maybe even kiss the dog excited!!
Temple Coach ..."nba potential"
Plus he is a good kid, coordinated, very intelligent, and non-doper.

I'd put him pretty much on par with our other big guys overall. He has skills and he should get bigger, stronger and better.

What others are saying:
“He is a very skilled big guy with great length and has good perimeter range and passing ability,” Weber said of Linguard. “He needs weight and strength, but he will get those once he gets in our program with (strength coach) Ben (O’Donnell). I think I was one of the first high-level coaches to visit him in the fall and Coach Johnson told me, ‘Take him right now, redshirt him and three years he has a chance to be a pro.’ We will see how that develops once he gets here, but he definitely has high potential.”
"While I'm sure he's improved during his short time at Temple (Texas) CC, I'm having a hard time figuring out how somebody didn't scoop up big man Carlton Linguard
out of high school in San Antonio. He's pushing 6-foot-11, he can run, he has very good hands and he can shoot for a prospect his size. He was also a qualifier out of high school meaning he has three years of eligibility and he looks destined to end up at the high major level." From Starting Five website.
And he's no academic risk - On a couple of all-academic teams in HS and Juco.

The law of averages should have kicked in a long time ago I keep thinking.pulitzerdave wrote: ↑April 20th, 2020, 5:41 pmI wouldn't dismiss this as meh. Yeah I’m liking what I’ve been reading. He may prove to be a much more valuable player for KSU than Williams ever could be. He gives the cats a rim protector we haven’t had in quite a while. Will be interesting to see if they do redshirt him or let him play. With the virus stuff going on it makes it harder to really evaluate him and project what you think he could do for this upcoming year. It’s is very nice with him having 3 years to play.SCKSCat wrote: ↑April 20th, 2020, 5:53 pmhttps://www.ksn.com/sports/wildcats/web ... -linguard/
