Toledo, yes I was at that game in Manhattan. There was no shot clock back then and Walt Hazzard was a one many show keeping the ball from anyone who challenged him for control.

UCLA was so strong back then that teams would hold the ball and there were many really, really low scoring games. The tension was huge.

What a dynasty. The Wizard of Westwood would win with 'little' teams and 'big' teams. It didn't seem to matter.

I also recall watching the Big O play in Ahearn. I think it was a playoff game and the Cats lost that one, too, unless my memory fails me.

Those were the glory days of KSU basketball. My first time on campus I watched Boozer and crew beat Mizzou and I decided right then and there that KSU was my college destination. I was probably 14 at the time.

Starting 5 has to include Wilt.
Wilt played two years at KU. Averaged 30 points a game and 18 rebounds a game. All while being double and triple teamed plus having other teams stall. Too bad they didn't keep track of blocks then. Seven foot 1 with a 40 inch standing vertical.

Wilt was so much ahead of his time. Also just a tremendous athlete. Huge, extremely strong and fast. But would he be the choice over Kareem as the top center? If you say the 5 most dominant college players of their time Wilt may be #1. However if you pick the top team of all time, position by position, Kareem may get the nod at center.
