now he gets to coach his alma mater.
Andy Kennedy has come home. The former Ole Miss coach went 245-156 overall leading the Rebel program from 2006-2018 while leading the Rebels to two NCAA Tournament appearances and six NIT appearances during his time in Oxford.

Kennedy is a nice guy, but he is the absolute definition of straddling the line between mediocrity and "good" and earning millions from it. In 12 years, at Mississippi, he made the NCAA tourney twice. He did make the NIT six times (so, eight postseasons in 12 years). He was four games over .500 in SEC play (102-98) and won 12 games or more in league play one time.
The SEC is full of guys like this (Mark Fox, Fogler/Odom at South Carolina, Mike Anderson at Arkansas, etc.) who do just enough to last about 10 years before the schools realize they'll never do anything truly of substance. Frank would fall into that same category at SC if not for that Final Four run.

Why is there something rather than nothing?

Final Four banner solves a lot of problems.

Right or wrong (arguable both ways), that Final Four will be a lifeline for Frank for a long, long time.
