I'm not believing anything unless I see it on the court especially when it comes to our big men 🤷‍♂️

Pick 'Em

Hard to say given the competition in the video. I will say, though, that he appears to be better than our current crop of 5’s. He can flush it. Shoot from some distance. Has a string defensive presence. Wonder if our staff can coach him down as they are so want to do?

That’s a good article. Not sure how good this young is, but sounds like he’s doing everything he can to become as good as he can and his work ethic is hopefully rubbing off on the frosh.

Gives a little hope and optimism for next season especially with how poor this season has been.

I'm glad he transferred in this semester so that he will be more ready to play come next season. Having some college experience under his belt already will help him with the transition.

I have to believe he will give us as much as Mak has this year. Maybe not as good on ball screen defense but a better rim protector and Mak is at least average as a rim defender.
And if he can hold onto the ball, he can equal Maks offensive production without doing much.

He does get up higher on blocks than any of the current players.

He shot sub 50% from the charity stripe so he should fit right in. This guy was forced to take a redshirt because he couldn't beat out any of the other big men on a poor UTEP team for minutes. We do this song and dance with every big man recruit and it turns out the same way. I need to see it on the court in an actual game.

He obviously has some physical talent, and you can see his 7' 1" wingspan at work in the video. There is another video where he is wearing a mic, and he is quite a dynamic personality -- kind of the anti-Mak in that respect. Agreed that his free throwing numbers are a bit scary, but he obviously has some shooting ability from the video. FWIW, he had five games as a freshman at UTEP where he went 6/8, 2/2, 4/6, 4/5, and 1/2 (the last two were his last two games as a frosh), so his mechanics are not hopeless. Given that he didn't get many minutes in a lot of the other games, he may have been cold off the bench in other games where he often went 0/1 or 0/2. It is a concern for sure.

He is clearly a better rim protector than anyone KSU has right now. Given his motor, length, shot blocking reflexes, and strength he should be able to contribute on defense. Offensively, it is hard to think he won't bring close to what Mak produces. The big question is if he can be the rebounder he should be given his physical traits. He may make a good counterpoint to Davion Bradford at the five next season. Agreed that we won't really know what he can do at the high major level until he actually does it.
