ISU Game Thread and Notes
Start of the second half of the Big 12 season. Important game. Chance to get the second half off on a good start after a stretch of tough games against WVU, OU, KU on the road and Baylor.

yep, the schedule has been brutal of late. but now it turns in k-state's favor. winning this one gets the cats off the snide, hopefully. isu is not good and their fans are in turmoil over steve prohm's ability to coach, although i find that absurd.

Why is it absurd? I’m confused on the Steve Prohm love. They were 4-14 2 years ago, 9-9 last year, and on their way to a 6-12ish type of year this year. His first two years were strong so if that’s your basis then I’m a little surprised because we know more about coaches years 3+ when it’s their full roster.

he recruits well, won the b12 tournament 2 of the last 3 years, and been in the ncaa's 3 of 4 years there. hardly the kind of coach who should be ditched without much consideration.

We both cherry picked timeframes so while both are true, they just confirm our thoughts haha. I don’t care much for how they play under Prohm so unrelated to records, that’s my take on him. They’re wannabe Hoiberg terms with less talent but the same bad defense.

They need to play better defense more consistently. Still, they are just as good as we are so far this year. Which team continues to improve as the season continues?

I know this team has only won 1 road game this year but I think it's important they play well and have a shot to win this game. There's no reason to not be in this game throughout and maybe steal a road win against this iowa st team.

I really think this game changes the outlook for the rest of the season. 7-11 is possible with a W (would be my new prediction) and with a loss then 4-14 looks about right.

We need a break on these close games. If I counted correctly, we are 3-9 in close games (games won or lost by single digits) this season. Ugh. We are due.
