Each and every screen is done differently (or should be) as determined by the scouting report and who is involved in the defensive action. What hurt us against Baylor was we did hedge rather softly and ended up not taking the shot or the roll away. Kind of played it halfway in between. And then you just end up dragging with the ball. Then they’d toss to Gillespie who fired it to a wide open guard whose man was helping on Gillespie. And they shot wide open 3’s.
We all see things a little differently and I'm sure there are plays to support what both of us saw.
I did not see Gillespie get the ball much and he had 0 assists. What I saw was their guard starting to drive either off the dribble with or without help from a screen and then our guards on the wing dropping in to try to stop that drive. Quick pitch to the man they were guarding on the wing and a wide open three. Some times our guards dropped down to help even though our defender on the ball still had decent position to at least funnel the guy away from the rim.
Combination of us helping on those drives a little too much and Baylor being really good. Multiple guards who could drive and shooters on the outside.

That’s true. It was more Vital than Gillespie. But there were a lot of assists on balls passed into the paint. And Baylor does run a lot of guard penetration and kick out stuff. And they pass and shoot it well.
