Agreed. There has to be an upgrade in talent. It seems like we are the only Big12 team that can't get talented transfers on a yearly, or near yearly basis. We need the help immediately.gdgjr78 wrote: ↑January 14th, 2020, 11:50 pmThe talent level on this team is similar to those bleak era's of KSU basketball, there's no denying it. The staff desperately needs this years fresh to take a leap forward, next years class to be ready to contribute immediately, and land another good class in 2021. That's a lot to ask but here's hoping so next year can be successful.
Asbury Blues - are we witnessing the worst basketball season in 20 years?

Tom Asbury! Blast from the past, he was a pretty hot coaching prospect back in his Pepperdine days, had a rugged time at K-State. The guy he replaced is on his way to a Hall Of Fame career, its weird how many great coaches K=State has had in basketball.

I was a student at K-State when Asbury was here. Our current team and program is light-years ahead of the Asbury era. Not even close. Our 3 freshmen have more talent than some of the entire teams did under Asbury. He was awful, absolutely horrible.

Asbury sucked in every way. I actually was blase' about our losses because I saw them as a way to get rid of Tan Tom.
Wooly was a good guy. Just couldn't win consistently,

I'm probably the jinx , I finally admitted Bruce is a good coach and we were lucky to have him. After that our poor guys just can't get a break. Must be that "force" learnin talks about, sorry guys.

Or possibly you‘ve just been duped, and your original feeling was always correct.

You don't read very carefully. No one is comparing programs. But I do think that this year's team is comparable to Asbury's last team. Numbers don't lie. We're the worst team in the Big 12 right now, just as Asbury's team was the worst in the Big 12.powercat95 wrote: ↑January 15th, 2020, 10:31 amI was a student at K-State when Asbury was here. Coming into this year, we needed several things to happen to even have a decent team:
1. Our role playing upper classmen (Sneed & Diarra) to prove they can be THE guy.
2. Any of our guys who play the 5 to take a big leap forward.
3. Mcguirl to become more consistent on offense and not just be a good defender.
4. One of the incoming freshman to be a guy who can get double digit points on a nightly basis.
I think it's safe to say that absolutely none of this things have taken place. And here we. I honestly will be shocked if we win A conference game. It will take an opponent to have a very down game for it to happen. That is not an exageration.
Just hoping this season doesnt discourage our freshman and incoming recruits to bolt. We will be back, but we will need them to do it. Otherwise, yes we are looking at several Wolly/Asbury seasons.

How does winning two conference championships and going to the Elite 8 figure into being "duped" by Weber's coaching ability? Good God!!!!!LincolnLarry wrote: ↑January 15th, 2020, 11:14 amOr possibly you‘ve just been duped, and your original feeling was always correct.

We won 5 conference games with Kam, Barry and Dean as freshmen. Also had DJ, Stephen Hurt, Iwundu and Edwards on that team. Opened Big 12 play with 1 win and 5 losses and closed by losing 4 out of 5. Will be a good race to see if we can match those 5 wins that year.
