Wichita State reloads and is pretty good. Why can't we emulate this program?

I live close enough to Wichita to root for the Shockers. I am sad that my beloved Wildcats can't reload consistently like WSU. I think we have better facilities and are in a better league. We can't get to KU level, but come on.... lower than WSU.

I don't know if he's a better coach, but he's a better recruiter, and evaluator of talent on a year to year basis. Weber has done well with some 3-star classes with an occasional 4-star thrown in, and very poor with others. You can't hit the target firing blanks.
Didn’t WSU not make any postseason 2 years ago? I was thinking they stunk 2 years ago and then did the NIT thing last year?
So this is our rebuild this year. Realistically our future next year will probably be NIT, since so many of our best players will be SO and FR.
Sucks and that is on Bruce for such horrible recruiting classes for basically 3 years.

That’s probably correct. WSU took a two year dip and their back up now. I didn’t see marshal on the hot seat when they were down. Weber seems to be assembling some young pieces for a couple years down the road. The rest of this year will be brutal. I do think we are better than OSU, OU, and ISU. We could conceivably finish above them still. I think there will be 3 or 4 teams with very few conference wins and several with great records. It’s not a balanced league at all. Of course I’ve been saying for weeks that we have no more than 4 tourney teamspipe95 wrote: ↑January 12th, 2020, 10:55 amDidn’t WSU not make any postseason 2 years ago? The lulls are tough to take. I understand the talent the Cats lost and yes the poor recruiting a couple years which is rearing its ugly head. I just am concerned it will be cyclical like this for Weber. Truly hope I am wrong but kind has been that way to this point. Then when the Cats do great (win the Big 12) they suck it up in the dance.

I'm jealous of WSU's ability to attract good big men to play for a mid major school.

That would be incorrect. Last year they struggled after losing 6 of their top 8 players. Started their conference season 1-6 and then went like 10-2 and went to the semifinals of the nit.pipe95 wrote: ↑January 12th, 2020, 10:55 amDidn’t WSU not make any postseason 2 years ago? The previous 7 years with Marshall they’ve been to the ncaa’s every year with a final four and a sweet 16. And the year before those 7 he lead them to the nit championship.
