Re: Why sit Barry with only 2 fouls?
Huge coaching mistake, IMO. I was fine letting him sit for a while and see how things go. But when UCI started their run and it was obvious we could not score Weber should have put Barry back in.
Oh, and Weber's interview right after the first half really pissed me off. He seemed to be giddy that we were tied.
"We'll have fresh players in the second half". He should have been mad as hell for giving up a 10 point lead in the last 5 min while shooting 0-11, and giving up a last-second 3. We were playing not to lose instead of playing to win. Passive approach and it is really disappointing.

He went out at 14:15 with a lead of 13-9. We built the lead to 26-16 when UCI called a timeout at 7:12. (No problem with that) UCI then went on a 11-2 run before we called a timeout at 3:07 up by 1, 28-27. As it turned out the final 3:07 was 3-2 with UCI hitting that last second 3. I think McGuirl and Stokes played too many consecutive minutes in that 1st half that Barry could have subbed in for them for a short blow.

I wonder if Weber has kept stats to justify his hard rule? Maybe he learned it from Keady? Krzyzewski doesn't do it. Self doesn't do it.

I agree with the decision to sit Barry, ksu was tied at half and has a good enough team to win this game, instead they sh_t the bed. Some of the fouls that the guys committed today were head scratching- Sneed’s foul on the press late, Diarra’s 4th foul on a reach in. KSU couldn’t get out of their own way imo

It was a stupid coaching decision but the game was still tied at half. KSU was clearly the better team imo and SHOULD have pulled away in the 2nd half but an absolutely putrid offensive performance doomed them.

Hindsight is usually 20-20. If Barry had picked up a 3rd foul in the first half and a quick 4th in the 2nd some folks would have called for his head.

I do not agree with the pulling of players at all. You take them out for a few minutes to let things settle. Then send them back in after talking to them about the situation.
Each player is different and a coach needs to know his players.
Then towards the end of the half, assuming they play without picking up the 3rd, you take them out to avoid a cheap one at the end of the half. This is how most coaches work this.
Pulling a top olayer for this length of time is just stupid when he takes three foul home with him.
