Bo Ryan is no longer coaching at Wisconsin. They are a good team, but not at all the same team as under Bo. As a second game match up, KSU with Dean Wade would be a good game against Wisky. If KSU could hold its own against Happ and their big center, I think the KSU backcourt would probably prevail. It would be a battle for both teams more than likely.
and frank martin's no longer coaching k-state.
That too!
KSU is very likely a four or five seed. Probably a four, but five is certainly possible, especially when they start moving teams up and down to get the match ups to fit the rules (no teams in the same conference, etc.). The second game opponents showing up right now are teams like Maryland, Wisconsin, and Cincinnati. If KSU wins their first round game (yes Virginia, there is a UMBC team), they should have a reasonable chance to make the Sweet Sixteen if Dean can play. It's that time in March.

Actually I wouldn't mind a 6 seed in Tulsa with Houston as the 2nd round.

It really won’t make a huge difference if they drop to a 5...KSU will be either the top 5 or last 4 probably. (I still think they end up a 4 & bracket Matrix still has that anyways...Lunardi’s a boob)
I think they are likely headed west anyways and there won’t be much of a crowd advantage for either, because other than Gonzaga and Nevad, there really isn’t any West teams to worry about, & I’d welcome playing Nevada.

I hate being a 5 seed. Every year, multiple 5 seeds lose to 12 seeds in the first round....every year. Just bad jue-jue. Let's get the 4 seed and go on a run.

Would be a real interesting battle.

TOM MARTIN
@TomKCTV5
Hearing there is a good chance Dean Wade’s career at Kansas State is over. Source: “I would be very surprised if he played again this season.”

I don't understand how that the second Dean hurt his foot he didn't take himself out. I don't understand why with a lead Dean was put back in the game at all. He probably did the most damage playing on it after he tweaked his foot.

If he’s unable to play, his draft status will hit the toilet.

This is still little more than a rumor right now. How much does the source know? The statement by the source could be more of an opinion than a fact. Let's wait to get more actual official information before discussing things that may or may not be true. The way the source framed his/her comment leaves open the possibility that Dean and other key people may still have a decision to make.
In any event, let's wish the best for Dean and respect all he has done for KSU whether he plays again this season or not.
