Didn't we lose an ugly affair in the first round of the NCAA tournament the last time we won a share of the conference title?

My theory, and it is just a theory, is that Wade is obviously still battling the foot, but the real impetus to the recent status is that the coaches/medical/Dean feel he can't play 3 days in a row. Rather than just sitting him day one and giving the opponent bulletin board material saying we just decided to sit him, we are using the foot regression somewhat as cover. I suspect he sits day one then, if we get to day 2, he doesn't start but is suited up on the bench and is available (if needed). Make the final and he starts and plays. Again, just a theory with no basis, but none of us appear to have any inside info (except learnin's comment that Dean was not in a boot eating dinner on Sunday).

BTW Learnin where did you hear that Dean wasn’t wearing a boot on Sunday and wasn’t limping?

I remember Dean saying in a relatively recent interview that he may have come back a “little early” (after starting 0-2). There’s no doubt he felt the need to help his team stop the bleeding. In this case, I fully expect Dean to either hang it up for good (college) or sit on the bench until he’s as good as he’s going to get without risk of further injury (which may not be possible this season). Either outcome, I admire the young man and am honored that he wore the purple and white.

Dean’s not thinking of next year. He’s in the here and now. If he can help he will. Next year is next year and will take care of itself. After all he played and scored 4 points last year against Kentucky with a fracture.

I think it was on twitter where someone tweeted he saw Dean eating on Sunday morning without a boot, etc.

i doubt the haters will be back this year given the b12 championship regardless what comes out of kc or the dance party.
I hope we don’t have to put this one to the test.

I think I saw that same twitter post and they mentioned seeing him eating downtown on Sunday. But I don’t remember the comment on how he was walking or whether he was in his boot. I definitely saw a lot of pictures with friends and autograph seekers in Bram Saturday night with his boot on.

I would certainly hope not. I hope that the fans give next year's team time to develop as well. It shouldn't be like the pressure put on these seniors as the Foster Fiasco.

That has been my point. I wish someone could wave a magic wand over his foot and he'd jump up, good as new.
