Maybe they can rest him more early in the year against the easier teams and when we have sizable leads in the second half.
Six games into the preseason and both Wade and Brown are averaging 32.5 minutes per game.

The leadership of these 2 is obvious. Kam also coming on. What a great class, one for the ages. At the Lehigh game I noticed Dean walking beside Barry with his arm around Barry's neck. Great shot of the love and respect of these 2 comrades in arms. These 3 have been through a lot and seem very close.

well, this certainly took an ironic turn.

not sure which is the greater irony: the discussion of minutes, needing to rest Dean, or pinning this topic.

At this point and with how well the Cats are playing, I think at least for the upcoming 2 games HCBG should work as many as possible into the rotation, to gain some experience moving forward. Even if we are not blowing teams out, people like Trice need to play in order to establish his role.

I’ve been worried about the number of minutes Barry had to play during Dean’s injury. He’s been remarkably durable during his time here, but I’d like him to have some legs left come tournament time.

Good point. He is such a crucial part of the team and production seems to fall off in his absence. With the improving play of McGuirl we may be able to leave in the other 4 starters and put Mike in for Barry 6 or 8 minutes per game. Also would it work to give him some practice days off and just have him kind of help coach or study film?

IMO, there are a few players that need to be in the game & don't need to be in the game at the same time.

-I think we need either Wade or Barry in the game at all times(which has been the case). Without one of those 2, we lose too much offensive scoring.
- I also think Diarra and McGuil in the game at the same time is typically not a great combo. I know Bruce typically goes with the hot hand here(lately McGuil), but rarely do both players have a great game. Figuring Barry and Kam play a lot, rotating 1 of McGuil/Diarra for one or the other is best.
- Maiwen, Trice, Stockard, Love - Unless we're forced to(foul trouble on Dean/X), there should be no more than 1 of these guys on the court at a time. When Dean needs a break, go small with X at the 4.

I will predict the following, assuming no injuries.

X. Sneed - 32
B. Brown - 30
D. Wade - 30
K. Stokes - 28
M. Mawien - 22
C. Diarra - 18
A. Trice - 16
M. McGuirl - 10
L. Stockard - 8
J. Love - 6

I expect that Shaun Williams will redshirt and Patrick Muldoon, Brian Patrick, and Nigel Shadd will get some minutes from Levi and James.
Well, my prediction was wrong.

Most wrongly, I thought that Trice would play more.
