CJ Noland, as mentioned in this thread, the son of former KSU Belvis Noland, has been building his offer list. He now has offers from KSU, Vandy, OSU, Texas A&M, TCU, SMU, Creighton, Houston, Austin Peay, Colorado State, Georgia Southern, North Texas, Oral Roberts, Sam Houston State, San Diego, Texas-Arlington, Troy, Tulsa, UIC, UTSA

He is ranked by Rivals as the 34th best SG in the nation and by other sites as just outside the top 100 overall.

He would be a very great get if he follows his legacy.
3 picks on Rivals for Noland, all KSU. Assuming that happens, and no one leaves, that would leave KSU with 1 open spot still for the 2021 class.

From what I saw on twitter, CJ Noland will be announcing his top 7, at 6:30 pm CST. Obviously, KSU should still be in there, but I hope it more for publicity then him strongly considering all of the top 7. It looks like his top 2 are KSU and OU, but maybe he is looking for more offers. Either way, it would be a very big loss to lose a legacy player to a mid-major or non blue blood school.

I have no clue what OU sells for BB but they always recruit well. Their facilities are sub-par (for BB) and their fan-base is so apathetic towards anything other than football.

I wish CJ all the luck in the world no matter where he chooses, but there are probably 50 places I would pick before OU.

Very disappointing if this happens as I have said before. Losing a legacy player to a conference foe is not good.

He decides at 5CST today, with all signs still pointing to OU.

His timeline on 247sports already says

"Sep 22, 2020: News
Four-star guard C.J. Noland commits to Oklahoma"

He gone.

For all the misses for Weber in recruiting, this has got to be the worst. CJ is now the 97th best player in the class and his dad played for KSU and KSU offered a good 2 months before OU.

KSU has a LOT of incoming young guys. Not everybody is going to get as much playing time as they want. In fact, probably nobody is going to get as much playing time as they want. I don't follow this that closely but I doubt OU has the same kind of logjam. If i were in his shoes that would weigh pretty heavily with me.

Given that CJ would join the teams in 2021, here is the respective rosters:

KSU:
1 SR
5 JR
5 SO
0 FR (2 open spots)

OU:
2 SR
3 JR
4 SO
1 FR (3 open spots)

Now this isn't a break down of position, but OU is going to have 3-4 players in their 2021 class, while KSU will have 2. That means KSU has more above the 2021 class that have more experience, but that also means less competition in your current class when it's your time.

Not to mention that I believe the same COVID rules apply in terms of no lost eligibility for basketball or that players transfer all the time. If Noland was better, he would beat out more experienced players regardless.
