Just checked 24/7, and the site shows Carlton Linguard as warmer. He is 6-11, thin and has a high motor. Does anyone have any information about him? Is this guy a good possibility, or the latest fish we will never get.
Why are we starting to get more successful at recruiting? Is NCAA about to torture the recruit hogs?

There is a good amount of info on him on page 41 of this thread. I'm not sure where he is with KSU, but he's a big that Weber would glady take.

Looks like KU now has an interest in Donavan Williams now. They're sending up an assistant to watch him play tomorrow.

If they offer him a scholarship this would spell huge trouble for our chances. Williams has said that he has a desire to play near home, so K-State would lose its edge against all the other schools that have offered him scholarships.

We're also sending an assistaint to the game, as well as Oregon, Ok State, and TAMU.

I wouldn't be suprised to see Oregon start going after him hard. They are going to have to replace a lot of production after Payton Pritchard leaves this season. If you haven't seen Pritchard play he is one of the leading canidates for POTY.

KSU has been pursing Williams for a long time it seems and Weber is constantly at his games. But in the end, that relationship building doesn't work for every recruit as the allure of a big name school gets them. We will see what happens here with Williams, if there are big names that come in late and steal him.

For example, KSU offered Christrian Braun when his only other offers were DePaul, Lehigh, Ole Miss, Missouri State and Loyola. They looked like that had a good shot at the instate product, even with other P5 schools jumping in. 1 month later, KU offers and gets him to come to an unofficial visit the day before his official visit with KSU. He committed shortly after.

For kids in the state of KS, growing on a KU basketball fan is akin to players growing up a KSU football fan and having a lean there. For out of state kids, it doesn't help that they don't all fly directly into Manhattan, so KU can jump in on their KSU scheduled visits and get them on their drive to Manhattan. An example to something similar to this was Davion Bradford was at Late Night at KU. While it was likely more to do with his AAU team and teammates, then actually recruiting Davion himself, it just shows how easy it is for either school to sneak in a visit with players at the same time.

It's just the nature of the game and recruiting. Weber's best shot is building the long term relationships and getting on kids before they blow up, like Pack who was not even ranked when he committed. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but Weber won't ever have the pull that a name school can where players grow up as fans, or are easily swayed by an offer.

From what I have seen, it's an unofficial visit and KU hasn't offered yet as no offer is showing up on recruiting sites. All hope is not lost yet. It's not sold that KU needs, or wants, him yet, but I'm not sure on their scholarship numbers on if they have openings. Then again, KSU doesn't have an opening either, but they have offered. There is always players leaving early in college basketball, so it could be KU being prepared for that, or they could really be interested, which would mean an offer would come after his visit if that is the case.

Every site is going to hype up recruits and take select quotes to bring in clicks.

Let's not forget that KU is not above signing a player K-State heavily wants/needs just so that he can ride their bench (see Mario Little).

legerald vick signed at ku a day or so after visiting k-state.

I'm glad we didn't get him. Do the dirty birds try to flip guys who have already signed with us? Hopefully not.

Seems like sooner or later KU's dirty laundry is going to start affecting their recruiting. Probably later...if ever.
