Did any one go to the Dodge City open practice on Saturday?
I saw a snippet or 2 on Jareem Dowling Twitter, and it looks like the kids had a good time. It showed a dunk contest between Fall and Rich. Baye Fall won, and I was struck how impressive he looks.

This will get you a link to a 3MAW video where Cole Manbeck and John Kurtz interview Jeff Goodman about the upcoming basketball season and Coleman Hawkins new podcast from the Field of 68 site.

This is enjoyable to watch. According to Goodman how well this team gels and how players play defense will determine how the Cats do in the conference. Goodman said the Big 12 is loaded and we could finished ranked 6th to 10.

Sounds like Coach Tang is really impressed with David Castillo. I hope he can get 12-15 minutes a game at a minimum, when the rotation of guards comes in for the starters. Who knows, if he performs well he might just play his way into the starting rotation like Ames did last season.

-KANSAS (9) – 215. Home/Away
2-Houston (5) – 211. Home
3-Iowa State (1) – 194 Home/Away
4-Baylor – 185 Away
5-Arizona (1) – 179 Home
6-Cincinnati – 140 Home/Away
7-Texas Tech – 135 Home
8-K-State – 133
9-BYU – 116 Away

This schedule looks favorable to me. We have 3 of the top 10 at home for 1 game - Arizona, Houston and Tech.

We play Home and Away games with KU, Iowa State, Cincinnati,

Baylor and BYU are Away games.

Appears to me that if we don't lose at home, we should have a good year providing we beat a majority of the teams ranked below us, all of which will surprise the top ranked preseason teams. TCU will be such a team.

Pick 'Em

Post by tmcats » October 17th, 2024, 10:27 am

i'm so focused on sunshine and boys that i haven't thought much about hoops other than coach turning the roster over with what looks like a lot of length and athleticism. as written earlier, i couldn't name more than a couple of them from their pictures, probably one with surety. coleman, maybe buddy. yep, it will be interesting to watch unfold, no doubt. but that's so far down the road for me. i want to see klieman go into ames with a chance to win an arlington ticket first and foremost.

Pick 'Em

balanced scoring and only 12 turnovers so early in the process/season, nice. scrimmage evidently was played in wichita.

oklahoma is picked to finished 15th in the 16-team sec. which on a separate note is fine karma given how boomer football has fallen flat on its face their first year in the sec, sec. many have written how ou will be the sec equivalent of nebraska to the b10. it's certainly starting out that way.
