I might need to try that next time...SCKSCat wrote: ↑April 13th, 2024, 9:58 am3MAW is decent
Mason Voth has a good podcast
I have been able to use them for free.
If I get a little constipated, I listen to Fitz. Seem to help loosen things up, not sure what the reason.
The unofficial Twitter X basketball site is good for scoops. Other Twxister are Joe Tipton, John Rothstein, Travis Branham, Adam Zagoria, Jeff Goodman

I got into the podcasts because sports radio down here in South Texas about the Big12 is pretty sparse when UT isn't in the running for whatever sport is going on. NOw that UT is in the SEC, ESPN radio is even more uninteresting. There is a Fox Sports channel down here as well but they focus on pro sports, mostly Cowboys and Spurs stuff, which I don't care to listen to, especially since the Spurs have decided to have endless years of tanking games.bigdeal wrote: ↑April 13th, 2024, 2:13 pmI am going to disagree with some on here. My favorite is the 3MAW cast with Kurtz,Manbeck, and Young. Kurtz grew up a K-Stater from a K-State family so don't let some of those that disagree with him sway you from listening. He is K-State through and through and doesn't report what he doesn't know, other than we he says he is not being journalistic but it is just an opinion. I really enjoy Mason Voth, as well. I listen to Fitz and his crew and also enjoy them. As much as some want to label him a pot-stirrer as well, that is just because he doesn't fit their narrative. He has been around K-State sports for a long time, has lots of connections, and cares about the product. You don't have to always agree with him, but I believe that to all be true. I like the Sic'em 360 guys but they are mostly Baylor. Same for Drew if locked on Baylor. I occasionally listen to Pete Mundo. I listened to Monty during the realignment saga and enjoyed it, but he does have a Utah slant. I like the Big B show, which is K-Stater Brian Henley. He has a K-State perspective but looks mostly at Big 12. Those are my thoughts, do with it what you want.
Kurtz was the first when news was hot. Then Mundo and the 365 guys. Derek Young and Manbeck are usually pretty good and I will watch them and Kurtz together, They all bring different aspects to the pod casts, and I find that Manbecks dive into the statistics interesting. Drew Galloway is good on the recruiting end of of things. I have heard Tillery a few times and he's ok. Mundo isn't bad and has Heartland sports headed in the right direction, I think. I also like the Big B show.
With all of the handwringing that came with the Tang speculation, some of those shows were harder for me to listen to. Too many of those guys were upset by Tang listening to offers and wanting apologies from Tang for the fans. I'd rather have Tang win games for the fans instead of an apology for something that will likely happen ever year. Winning makes things better. Hollow apologies demanded by self-important talking heads are useless.

Yes, the On3 K-State guys are pretty good. DY gets some good K-State inside scoop at times. If you really want to listen to some K-State sports analytics, Jimmy Goheen (ksu_fan) is a guest with the KSO guys on occasion. He knows his stuff.tmcats wrote: ↑April 13th, 2024, 9:13 ami catch on3/k-state online's mason voth (below) and derek young's pod. young is really good at recruiting. he's joined by drew galloway. voth is a 25-year old who happens to be smart as a whip with a big personality. he occasionally does stadium food reviews that make me laugh. all three are fair and don't make noise for the sake of chaos. cannot stand kurtz or fitz and have explained that ad nauseam.
Speaking of....interesting tidbit about Goheen: https://themercury.com/news/local/how-o ... ae515.html

Agreed. I listened to that on my way home from work. Young made mention that CJs numbers in the second half of the season really improved.

ksu_fan is very level headed and extremely in depth when digging into the numbers in both football and basketball, if he comments on other sports I'm not aware of it. If a certain ex BB coach had paid attention to the numbers ksu_fan was crunching he might still be coaching here.

Was listening to Knumbskull News while in the shower.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJYxWDc ... bskullNews
He was talking about one of the reasons behind this latest round of realignment or 'repositioning' or whatever is going on now with ESPN is due to Disney thinking about selling it off. Take it for what it is, I guess. I don't think I'd count his as an authority, but he does have some interesting ideas from time to time and isn't afraid to think outside the box.

So what is your sources for early scoops?
I use to like old Trilly Donovan, but this site ain't worth dog crap. If you pay $7 per month you can get the tidbits. Trilly ain't that good.
So I check Joe Tipton, Jeff Goodman and Jon Rothstein XTwitties sites.
