I'm sure there is calculus at work in the "charitable giving" decisions. The more LeBron builds his resume the greater the endorsement $$$.

Labron is losing his appeal and as a result the NBA will be done with him soon. It will be a business decision by the league, just like his elevation was a business decision. He’ll stop getting all the calls and will be forced to retire or appear to be inferior to the new crop of stars. This cycle happens every 10 years or so.
It’s too bad the league didn’t think KD’s marketing appeal was as big as Labron’s. He’s twice the player and fun to watch. But he didn’t have the big mouth and ego that appeals to marketers at the time. Imagine KD’s numbers if he got the officiating treatment Labron got over the years. The numbers would be mind boggling.
