Good for Joe! He used his time at KSU well. This is a pretty good step up for him. Hope he makes the best of it.

Seems like this is an indictment of the coaching staff to evaluate talent in the recruiting phase and develop players.

Illinois star Kofi Cockburn is officially in the transfer portal, sources told ESPN.
Why is there something rather than nothing?

Wow! So he’s has to be the biggest name in the portal doesn’t he? I haven’t followed or kept track of much of the off season goings on with players, but I’m surprised he’s not currently in the NBA draft without an agent so he can pull out, if he’s not. Talk about a player I’d love to have. He’s a type of post player KSU has never had that I can recall.

He is in the draft. The question may be can he make more money at Kentucky with the NLI money or in the G League. My personal guess is that he will get drafted if he stays in the draft. He can always make good money overseas if he wants to go that route.bhoovy wrote: ↑July 2nd, 2021, 11:50 pm

Just ANOTHER guy that leaves, and ends up at a less competitive program, in a less competitive conference. Seems like we have had more than our fair share of those.
In a perfect world, everyone would choose hard work, morals and ethics over obscene money and fame. And everyone outside of Lowrents would be required to be a red blooded, card carrying Payhawk hater.

Do you actually follow KSU basketball? Joe was a walk-on from a JUCO who was clearly not a high major player from his JUCO stats. He was a willing practice player because his dream was to be at KSU. He was eventually awarded a scholarship (for one semester, IIRC) to reward him for his contributions as a practice player. He was never a recruited scholarship player at KSU.epicsnyder wrote: ↑July 6th, 2021, 6:20 amJust ANOTHER guy that leaves, and ends up at a less competitive program, in a less competitive conference.
