I'd hate to see him leave Loyola. I guess this is the way the world works, but it's nice to see a coach who puts a team on the map and then just is content with that achievement. But for every Bo Ryan or Mark Few or Gene Keady there are a whole bunch of Shakas and Steve Alfords. I think Beard is a heckuva coach, but moving on to Austin, where good coaches go to die....? We shall see. When you walk out from a place that loves you you flush a whole lot of good will down the toilet that might look pretty good in retrospect.

he was horrible at illinois state 22-50 in-conference and finished .500 in-conference at loyola.
to me it seems like oklahoma is getting lon kruger 2.0. we'll have to see. i hope he does as well in bramlage. ha.
i too thought he might stay with the jesuits and do in chicago what mark few is doing at gonzaga. i guess a couple million more per year means something.
the amount of money we pay coaches and administrators is truly dumbfounding.

Why is there something rather than nothing?

moser's done outstanding at loyola - of late. shaka did that at vcu. frank at k-state. steve prohm was 54-10 at murray state. the list is long, isn't it! but skills are not always transferrable in sports. tom herman at texas. rick neuheisel at ucla. so many others.
we'll see how moser does at norman. my guess, he won't be up to lon's record. for me, that's based on what porter accomplished at illinois state and loyola v. lonnie's resume' pre-oklahoma.
