I would try to relate that as to someone wearing a traditional garment from your history, but changing the colors and doing it while slamming back beers.
I'm mostly German. This sounds like Oktoberfest. Should I be offended? :D

What about 'Chief Executive Officer', or 'Chief Operating Officer" or 'Master Chief', etc.? At some point, this ridiculous cancel culture needs to end, one way or another and/or by any means necessary.

I should have clarified that I'm assuming that the traditional garment is one that is not already used while drinking beer. :D

Tampa Bay removed "Devil" from their name, partly due to objections from religious groups.

Washington changed from Bullets to Wizards because of the rising crime rates.

Tennessee was going to go with the name Rebels, but there were some objections to that so they ended up with Titans.

Miami of Ohio had the nickname the Redskins, and it was dropped in 1996.

I can imagine that there will be groups that can find offense to a lot of different nicknames and we could have to stop using those that reference groups of people and instead use animals, objects, or fictitious creations. After all, because of such names, I always think all Irish just want to fight 8-)

I'm not saying I dislike, or like, the changes. Just making notes on what I see happening in society right now.

I would think it is more in the context that it is used. The symbol on the helmet isn't a $$ sign and there isn't a guy/girl in a $5k suit driving his Lambo to center field to plant his portfolio returns at center field. (or whatever imagery would befit a CEO)

As for "master" that is another word that has come under fire recently.

spot, you make some good points. but on the flip side:

the big drum.
the 'chop'
the drunken folks with the head dresses and warpaint.

there are a lot of things I love about the chiefs, the games. what happens, goes on in the stands? not that. not one bit. but that's because it's just not the way I conduct myself. much too boring I guess.

have been watching the chiefs since early 70's every chance I get. as die-hard a fan as can be without having tailgate and take my beer intravenously

pumped my fist two, maybe three times after the superbowl clock hit zeroes... then back to normal. have re-watched the game several times. never really gets old.

It's all about the money.
"Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word, equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude." Alexis de Tocqueville
