New 2021 Commit - Austin Weiner

Post by AJcat7755 » June 15th, 2020, 4:01 pm

Should be of no surprise that Austin Weiner has committed to Kansas State. His father, Todd (who played 11 years in the NFL) and his uncle Mike both played football at Kansas State and his mom, aunt (Brit Reid) and uncle (Josh Reid) all played basketball.

He relocated in the last year from Georgia, to play for Gardner, who's strength coach is Mark Simoneau, one of Todd's former teammates and good friend. Gardner also has 2021 commit Davonte Pritchard, so even more reason why he would choose KSU. I'm all for making Gardner a pipeline to KSU with Mark there.

His other offers were from: Central Michigan, Kent State, Toledo, Western Michigan
Some offers may not have been made due to the expectation that he was just going to go to KSU

He plays SDE and TE right now, but looks like they are going to try and beef him up and put in on the OL as a OT.

Looks like Austin also has a younger brother, a 2024 QB already with a Arkansas offer.

Nice pickup. A year or 2 in the weight room and he could be a beast. And nice to see a commitment in an area that we need.

I lived with some Olinenen in my KState days and Todd was over a few times. Was pretty quiet, but always seemed like a good dude. He really transformed his body to play tackle and I'm betting that's what the coaches have in mind for his son.

Welcome home Austin. Sounds like you were born a Wildcat.
