NoBSin50,
I have deleted your post, as almost every single thing in it is irrefutably and demonstrably false. I won’t have this forum be a vehicle for fake news propaganda. Consider this your warning.

Fear is a great way to control people.featurethefullback wrote: ↑May 17th, 2020, 10:47 amThe ignorance of a number of comments on this board are beyond belief. Further, your lack of care for the students and student athletes is ridiculous. I hope the you do not get this virus. It is far worse than the flu. It would be very fitting however, if you did. Glad to see that we have so many medical experts on this board.

I think it's too early to tell. Going to depend on a few factors.
1) How the reopening progresses. If deaths go up, it'll be hard to start
2) What does the $EC do? No way in hell they play and the other P5's don't.
3) What do the TX schools do. See above.

right now, i'd be surprised to see the pac12 play. their governor is hardcore against opening up.
the southern schools will play. and that will certainly impact the b12 to follow suit. texas will make the call.
the b10 though, i don't have a clue.
i like this idea being floated of opening school early, no fall break, and closing the fall semester at thanksgiving. then reopening late for spring semester. that could provide a window between the c'virus being dormant through summer/fall and getting a vaccine by year's end.

like texas controls the b12, california does the p12 with cal, stanford, ucla, and usc representing a third of the membership. cal's governor seems to be loosening the reins though according to this piece.

Just a few days ago things looked bleak for West Coast schools and the Pac-12. Decisions by governors of California and Oregon and an announcement by the California State University system that classes would be (held) primarily online had a number of media outlets suggesting the Pac-12 might get left behind when the 2020 college football season starts. CBSSports.com produced a story late last week with that exact sentiment.

Absolutely! Quite honestly, universities in general will almost have to change. They’ve become bloated bureaucracies and have priced themselves out of reach of most young people imo. Imagine carrying a bunch of student debt right now?

A college education still has an enormous financial reward and still would if tuition was double. Students unfortunately get sucked into ripoffs like study abroad and rack up tons of debt. Students that attend a quality state school can get out with little debt and good jobs. Much of the data reported in the media is over-hyped. However many student do get sucked into scam programs that bleed them.PurpleOnWhite wrote: ↑May 20th, 2020, 11:07 amAbsolutely! Quite honestly, universities in general will almost have to change. My health is not dependent on others...it is dependent on me...even if others are not doing the greatest things. I care about my fellow man. Unfortunately, you just have to walk down the street, go shopping, go to a restaurant, etc. and you tell a significant percentage of individuals don't seem care about their health. For those that need to isolate, we should support that need.pulitzerdave wrote: ↑May 17th, 2020, 3:55 pm"It would be very fitting however if you did"
That's not a statement over the top for those who refuse to recognize the danger inherent in not wearing masks in public, not social distancing and not following basic guidelines to keep us all safe. Why should any of us care about you, if you don't care about your fellow man?
I hope the football players follow their gut in what they want to do. I'll support them in what they decide.
