And how would you feel about one person at that game catching the flu and dying from it? Or maybe five abortions resulting from some raging frat parties after a Wildcat victory? Or maybe someone dies in a car wreck on his way to the game? If Covid19 scares you that much, maybe you should just stay at home.
We could do this all day. I am guessing you're just fine with what I presented. Ultimately, isn't it a person's choice to go that game or not go to that game? Your choice to stay in lock down is better than some government entity telling us to stay inside while a disease with less than a 1% mortality rate "rages'.

A person can be a socialist in a capitalist society, but a person is not allowed to be a capitalist in a socialist society.

Universities should open and we should get in with essential things like working towards graduation and careers. However, those students probably shouldn’t be made to perform the the field for people’s entertainment and creating a potentially dangerous situation. Now if the day continues to strongly support that this virus is not nearly as dangerous as originally thought by say, mid-summer. I’d say sports could continue.
I think obviously think this virus is all overblown. But, why not limit non-essential entertainment activities in case it is.
If it wasn’t for the money, we wouldn’t even be having this conversation.

It's not just the fans. I think the players and coaches would be VERY disappointed if the season was cancelled. Maybe we will get lucky and this virus will burn itself out over the next month or two. My heart is hopeful, but my head is doubtful.

I can't see a scenario where they start in March and end in May? Why would Trevor Lawrence play that close to his NFL career starting? If they start in March, I would see it as much more of an exhibition type season because the players that have NFL aspirations are not going to play that close to the next season. Plus, end one season in May and start the next in September? I don't see that either.
I also kind of agree that if we are going to wait until zero deaths to start anything, we are going to be waiting a while. We have vaccines and medicines for a lot of things and people still die every year. I am not insensitive to it, but if we have a ballgame and one person gets sick, are we really going to shut everything down again? Man, that seems a bit over the top for me, but I don't know anything.

this is a good example of the progressive mindset that suggests government should protect us from personal responsibility. if there are c'virus meds and a vaccine, life should go back to normal.3rdgradeteach wrote: ↑May 3rd, 2020, 6:41 pmSo if only 1 person gets Covid-19 at a college football game and dies are you good with that? 20 people? 100 people? 1,000 people?
What number is your max that could happen and you would still be ok with that number?
Why is there something rather than nothing?

There are risks to everything we do in life. I hope college classes begin on time and football begins on time. If the c-virus is still around and a vaccine isn't developed yet each person should be able to decide for themselves whether or not to attend. Those us that are high risk will have tough decision to make. Those that aren't high risk shouldn't be kept away. Government guidelines are fine but government control not so much.

We will know more in a couple months, but the way it looks at this point, they should be shooting for a normal season. No reason to make any calls on that for now except to be ready in case. We shouldn't shut the games down for fear. If you are fearful, then don't go. If it is back up to being rampant and we can't control, then okay shut it down, but If a university is in a hot spot, sorry but that sucks, but don't shut the whole country down for that. You can isolate the team from the rest of the university if needed and play all away games if you had too. My guess is testing will be the norm by then and we will know where we are at by then. The pro sports opening will be an early test to opening things. Motorsports, baseball, etc. I know no fans at this point, but we will see how that goes.
