Scottie Hazleton is leaving
Taking the DC job at Michigan State

While no one expected Scottie to stay around forever, this is much shorter tenure then was expected.

I just saw the breaking news. I think everyone is surprised it happened after the first season.

To be fair, he has been a bit of a job jumper. The longest he has been at any school was 5 years at NDSU. Most of his stints were between 1-3 years between USC, Nevada, Jacksonville, Wyoming and now KSU. It would not surprise me to see him at a HC in 3 years.

I'll bet Klieman comes up with somebody good. Maybe a young guy looking for a shot.

If looking who could replace him on the current staff, seems like the 2 best options would be Klanderman or Malone. Kalnderman coached a few years as a DC/LB coach at Minnesota State. Malone coached a few years as a DC at SMU and in the highschool ranks. Neither of them have coached LBs though as they have both coached parts of the secondary.
I'm sure people will bring up Seiler, who moved to be the DC/LB coach at Old Dominion for the upcoming season. But if CK didn't want him as his DC the first time, did 1 year as the ILB/ST coach at West Virginia change his mind and would Blake even want to come back after being snubbed for the job before?
Do they go back to the NDSU well? Would Matt Entz want to give up being NDSU HC for a DC job at a P5 school? I'm assuming if this was going to happen, it would have happened when CK first took the job, but he would be a good hire. I would think they would look for someone with LB experience as well. Entz was the LB coach at NDSU while CK was there, so he wouldn't know the current one.

Stop reaching. Scottie doesn't stay at jobs and was easily regarded as the best assistant that KSU was lucky to get. He isn't turning down a pay raise to go to Michigan State to build his brand more to get to that HC job eventually.
