Congrats. Will be missed.

Good move for him. Family raised. Highly qualified for the job. But, i bet it might be tough for Sean and Bill -- as they've been joined at the hip football-wise for decades.

At some point, if you are a coach under your father, you MUST move out from that shadow and level of protection and decide who/what you are.

If Sean really wanted to be HC at KSU, he would have left years ago to gain experience and knowledge from other programs and other coaches.

Been there, done that.

I left after being grad Asst. for two years under my father. After 4 years gone, was invited to 12-15 Ks., OKie., TexAzz high schools, and 4 colleges.

Shortly before he died of cancer, my father told me he would trade his career for mine.

In my mind, that's the highest praise you can recieve from your father.

Wish Sean the best and agree that he needs to cut his own path at this point and southern California doesn't sound too rough. it is likely a very good move for him. Hard to follow a legend. I appreciate his loyalty all he has done for us. Thanks and best wishes Sean.

Pick 'Em

sean going there gives me reason to watch usc again. they use to be like alabama is today. then, they faded after pete went to the seahawks.

usc was absolutely dominant during my younger years when john mckay brought black players to usc, just as john wooden had earlier to ucla hoops. in fact, bear bryant scheduled mckay's trojans in the 70's as a way to introduce black athletes to then-lilly-white southern football. usc ran all over 'bama with many black athletes from the southeast. o.j.'s replacement, clarence davis, was from birmingham, al. it wasn't long before that color barrier came down.

usc's special teams have been dismal. even so, sean won't lack for talent out there, and my guess is he turns them around quickly. just glad he didn't go to texas or nebraska.
