I don't think the spouse beaters should be allowed to play. However, I also don't think that belief of mine should keep me from enjoying the game. Things that I can't change, I tend to accept.

And Pringle is going to the superbowl. I would have never thought he'd last that long with his dropsies in college. Proud of that kid.

It is going to be a good game.

Pringle's drops where mainly when Ertz was the QB. Thompson & Mahomes are obviously more accurate QBs. That makes a difference.

I said it before I saw the sign, "I've literally waited a life-time so see the Chiefs get into a superbowl."

And Mahomes is a Chief now, not a Red Raider. Hill isn't an Okie State Cowboy. Honey Badger isn't at LSU. Sorensen isn't at BYU. Kelsie isn't a Bearcat. They are all Chiefs right now.

And Pringle is going to the superbowl. I would have never thought he'd last that long with his dropsies in college. Proud of that kid.

Hill might not be an OSU Cowboy (and remember, he didn't leave on his own accord anyway) but is a walking, talking P.O.S. https://theundefeated.com/features/the- ... s-success/

"Like many writers who cover the NFL, I’ve grown somewhat inured to poring over the details of intimate partner violence. But Hill’s case was startling. According to a Stillwater Police Department arrest report, his girlfriend at the time, Crystal Espinal, showed up in an emergency room with cuts and bruises on her face and neck. (The officer who filed the report noted that her lip was busted, that she was wincing with pain and that the mark under her eye was turning purple as she spoke.) Espinal, who was eight weeks pregnant at the time, said Hill had grabbed her neck with his hands, pinned her against the wall and then thrown her to the ground like a “rag doll.” She told an officer that Hill had picked her up by her hair and put her in a headlock. After Espinal had screamed “I can’t breathe” several times, she alleged, he released her, then sat on top of her, punching her in the stomach.

During her interviews, Espinal told the police that Hill had a “volatile temper” and had been physical with her before, but had never hit her — “just a lot of manhandling,” she said. Afterward, an officer went to Hill’s apartment, where he found Espinal’s ripped shirt. He also found a photo of a sonogram attached to the mirror.

That weekend, Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy — who had visited the police department and asked to look at photos of the victim, according to the arrest report — kicked Hill off the team. “We try to stress as much as we can to these guys, there’s just certain things right now that society frowns upon,” he told reporters."

Can't cheer for the Chiefs. WAYYYYYYY too many wife beaters have been on that team. The organization just doesn't care. And neither do most fans. No friggin' way they would if they honestly asked themselves how they would feel about it if the women that have been battered and bruised and literally terrorized by guys in the organization were their daughters. It's pathetic. No excuse for it. EVER.
When his ex was in the process of extorting him with that tape, Hill confronted her about the details of the OSU incident during that taping & it's pretty clear she had lied. There's a reason he wasn't suspended.

Where were you in January of 1970 when the Chiefs beat the Vikes? I was off the Viet Nam coast in the Gulf of Tonkin.

I imagine most people on this forum were not yet among the living :D

The CHUMPS have been disappointing me for FIFTY YEARS. Is this the year my disappointments end ?

Probably screw it up once more :(
I wasn't in the service yet. I watched the game with my then girlfriends family. A wonderful day and an even better night.

I was watching on my uncle's color TV. First one in the area. Watched Super Bowl 1 in black and white.

Yeah, he's a choir boy. Amazing how if you can run fast and catch there's just a different set of societal rules. But go ahead and have him marry your daughter and put your head calmly on your pillow every night.

Yeah this is a tough one. I made a decision in about 1996 that I would just look at college/pro sports for what it is, entertainment. I figure if you want to deep dive into pretty much every team you can find some characters you may not be proud to cheer for, especially at the pro level. Heck, I have heard some things that have happened at KSU over the years that didn't make me real proud to cheer for the Cats, but it is what it is.

But I don't think it is a novel idea that if you can run fast or have money or whatever, there are different societal rules. That happens all the time, in sports and all facets of life.

With that said, my daughter currently attends Missouri State and rumors last week were that they may be hiring Art Briles and when it became more personal to me, I got a lot more upset about that dude bringing that rape culture he allowed at Baylor to my daughters school, it became a lot more real. I didn't want that guy anywhere near Missouri State. Instead the hired Bobby Petrino, so I guess as long as I can keep her from taking a motorcycle ride with him, I don't really care what he does.

Very well said Gor. Bad seeds at all levels. I don't know the truth about Tyreek, but that tape sure puts his girlfriend in a bad light. I've always cheered for the name on the front of the jersey...not the back. I've never bought a jersey, nor will I ever...to me the jersey wearing ends with the playing career.

If I had a daughter, I would strongly suggest to her...NO dating athletes after High School. Probably a little strong, but the Colin Klein's, Tyler Lockets, Tebows, & Mahommes are few and far between.

It is not just physical abuse because most of the athletes I have known are good people, but being faithful is not something they are good at. It's just something I wouldn't want my daughter to have to deal with.

fans who discount or rationalize hill are no different than ku fans minimizing their basketball program's nefarious activities. i'll cheer for the chiefs. i love mahomes. but i also realize a few of these guys have done bad things, really bad. and if they were in commerce, working for any major corporation, they wouldn't have a job.

Agreed JOKKO, and your post made me remember about 10 years ago I was at a basketball coaches clinic listening to the late Don Meyer and he talked about how Michael Jordan is so crazy wealthy, still makes so much money off of every pair of Air Jordan gear sold, etc etc etc and he just went on and on about all the different avenues in which Jordan has made money, and then he says, "and folks, Bill Gates has about 20 times more money than Michael Jordan, so the moral of the story, the nerds always win," hahahahahahahaha. it was great. I personally am still hoping my daughters find that nerd to marry.
